Sue Supports Local - New Campaign Merchandise! April 2022 Newsletter

Hello Neighbors & Friends,

Happy Spring! After the winter, we are so excited to see the tulips emerging and other signs of spring as we walk around the Ward.

One of the best things about Providence - and Ward 3 in particular - are our small, independent shops, artists, and makers. And while buying local is a personal ethic of Sue’s - as City Councilor, she will fight to ensure that the City supports homegrown business through our own spending and in our economic development.

Sue is modeling this in how she manages her campaign. She was thrilled to partner with friend and Hope Street merchant Asher Schofield of Frog & Toad to hand-make her campaign merchandise. The logo featured on the shirt was made by Providence-based Firebox Creative.

We would love for you to wear your pride in Sue’s campaign all around Providence!

Sue loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at Frog & Toad’s studio space at Nicholson File Art Studio. Check out our campaign Facebook page for more photos this week.

Sue in the News:

Sue in the Boston Globe: Rhode Island has a real opportunity to pass the first meaningful regulation on harmful pesticides in decades. Check out the op-ed Sue wrote with the Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s Senior Director of Policy Priscilla De La Cruz in this week’s Boston Globe to see why this is important for public health, people, & pollinators. A big thank you to our District 4 State Rep. Rebecca Kislak for sponsoring this legislation!

Sue in Providence Business News: Sue is also fighting hard at the State House for expanding clean energy and protecting our natural spaces. Check out her coverage in Providence Business News this week on important solar siting legislation she is leading advocacy efforts to support.

Sue on a podcast: Sue was recently featured on the Yale School of Management’s Career Conversations podcast about her career dedicated to public good. You can give it a listen here.
