Upcoming Ward 3 meetings, Committees, Rent Stabilization, and more
Hello Friends & Neighbors, I hope that this note finds you all well. I know that 2026 has already been quite heavy. Hours after I spoke at a Vigil reflecting on the 5th Anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, we heard news that the U.S. had kidnapped the president of another sovereign nation -- and a day after, we watched horrific ICE brutality in Minneapolis. It's been relentless. But at the same time -- I am so inspired and hopeful because of the actions I am seeing

Kicking off 2026!
Hello Friends & Neighbors, Happy 2026! I hope that this first newsletter of the year finds you well-rested, with hope and some optimism for the year to come. I tried to catch up on some reading during the quieter week between Christmas and New Years -- and read "Life After Cars" and "On Tyranny" -- and am mid-way through Jane Jacobs' "Dark Age Ahead". What are you reading -- and what should be on my list for 2026? As always, there's a lot going on - so I'll just jump right

How will we make 2026 amazing?
Dear Friends & Neighbors, As 2025 draws to a close, I am reminded of a conversation from New Years a few years ago with a friend and mentor. As I wished him an Amazing New Year, he thoughtfully asked me, “What will you do to make this an amazing New Year?” With all of the opportunities and challenges ahead of us in Rhode Island – I am once again asking myself, “What will I do to make this an amazing new year?” And in 2026 -- I am doing that by doubling down on my commitment

Gratitude and Community Updates
Dear Friends & Neighbors, I hope that you all had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends. I know that for many in our community, times are tough economically. I am grateful for organizations like the RI Community Food Bank , the Elisha Project , and Ward 3's own Mount Hope Community Center (among so many others) who are working so hard every day to ensure our neighbors across Rhode Island have healthy food on their tables. As winter approaches, let's take

November 8th Ward 3 PVD Newsletter
Dear Friends & Neighbors, I hope that this note finds you well - staying safe & healthy. Before I jump into the newsletter, I want to acknowledge the incredibly difficult circumstance that many of us and our neighbors are in with the pause of the federal SNAP program. Benefits were not distributed on November 1rst, which has caused real harm for many families. I am grateful for Rhode Islander & U.S. District Judge McConnell who ruled that SNAP needs to be immediately and ful
