Dear Friends & Neighbors,

We are officially 2 months from election day! Team Sue has been hard at work connecting with neighbors and building momentum in the final weeks of the campaign. We are so grateful for your continued support. Check out below for more ways to be involved to #ElectSue -- and also things happening across the Ward!

Campaign Highlights:

Volunteer Spotlight: Sue & Lou met in 2016 when they had offices next to each other when Sue was the State's Director of Food Strategy & Lou ran the LEAN government initiative for the Department of Environmental Management. Lou has spent his career in government service -- and was an avid canvasser as a kid with his dad. Now he's a dad to two adorable boys. We are so grateful that as soon as Sue told him she was running, he signed up to help!

Do you want to volunteer with #TeamSue? Sign up here! We will follow up with details.

More Yard Signs Available: We love seeing our yard signs popping up all over the neighborhood! Designed by the talented Jackie Duhamel and printed at local union shop Federal Signs - our signs not only show your support for Sue's City Council campaign, but also support local small businesses right here in Providence! Sign up for yours here, and our team will drop them off!

Other Ways to Support #TeamSue: Sue is out there reaching voters every way she can - knocking doors, following up with handwritten letters, making phone calls, writing emails, sending postcards, and posting on social media! Please consider supporting Sue's campaign with a donation to ensure she can connect with every voter in Ward 3!

Make sure you are following Sue's campaign on social media!

Ward 3 News:

Bike Path on Hope Street Public Meeting: As we've been out talking with neighbors, we hear a lot of interest in active mobility and options to increase the safety and our roads. On Monday, July 18th, there will be a community information session to hear feedback about the proposed bike path for Hope Street. Hope you can join!

Charter Review Commission Public Meetings: The Providence City Council is hosting a series of public hearings on proposed Charter changes that could be headed to the ballot this November. The city’s Charter review process was first established in 1992. Every 10 years, a commission is appointed to review the Charter (essentially the city’s constitution) and recommend any changes to the City Council and residents of Providence. (*Fun fact: Sue recently met a Ward 3 resident who was involved in the 1992 process that led to this transparent charter review schedule!) Why does it matter? Any changes approved by the City Council could impact the future of the city including this year's proposal to transition the school board to a hybrid of elected and appointed members. Vision for North Main Street: Like many Ward 3 residents, Sue is excited about the prospect of a more walkable, vibrant North Main Street. She participated in the North Main Street visioning process led by current Councilwoman LaFortune and the City's Planning Department. If you haven't yet seen the plan they put out, you can check it out here.

Sue has experience not only creating plans, but ensuring their implementation - Sue led the development and implementation for the State's first Food Plan as Rhode Island's first Director of Food Strategy. She will bring that spirit to this work to revitalize North Main Street -- and has already begun meeting with groups of engaged residents on the nuts and bolts on how to move this work forward in a productive and sustainable way. More to come!

Thank you all so much for all you do for Providence! Please reach out any time if we can be helpful in any way.

With deep gratitude,
